Their music is on everyone’s lips and Saarkie, the Ghoema and SAMA-nominated SA girl rockers, have been taking SA by storm with their national tour. And hence the title for the brand new single, Langpad (Long Road), from their most recent album, Queen van die Toorbos, which they released in 2017.
Langpad was written by Adéle Fouchè and Mjön van Blommestein while they were travelling back home one night on a long road. The song is about each one of us who has a long way to walk in our own lives, whether it’s in love, your dreams, with friends or family, or someone literally on the road.
“Everyone has a road that they need to walk and who need someone alongside them to make the journey shorter and sweeter, and we really hope that the fans are going to love this song,” says Adéle.

The single features on their album, Queen van die Toorbos, and builds on their electronic-acoustic, ‘get-you-moving’ recipe that this group have come to be known for. It can be described as a mix of modern pop and rock.
The group have, from the start, performed at some of South Africa’s biggest music festivals including Aardklop, KKNK, STRAB, Mieliepop and Inniebos and have shared the stage with some of the country’s biggest music legends like Karen Zoid, Francois van Coke, Die Heuwels Fantasties, Spoegwolf, Steve Hofmeyr, Kurt Darren, The Parlotones, Cindy Alter (Clout), Ballyhoo and more.
